Online Scams

Online scams are very common and are designed to trick people into giving away their personal information, passwords, or money. Scammers often pretend to be trusted companies, friends, or even game platforms. They may send messages saying you have won a prize or asking you to click a link urgently. These messages are usually fake and are meant to create panic or excitement so you act without thinking.

One common type of scam is phishing, where scammers send emails or messages that look real but contain fake links. When you click on these links, you may be taken to a website that looks official but is designed to steal your information. Another type is fake giveaways, especially on social media or gaming platforms, where users are promised rewards but are asked to provide login details.

To stay safe, always double-check links before clicking them and avoid downloading files from unknown sources. Trusted websites usually have secure links that start with “https”. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is. Being aware and cautious can help you avoid falling victim to online scams.
